Elmar Kotter

Dr. Kotter studied Medicine and Computer Science at the University of Montpellier (France) and Université René Descartes in Paris (France). After receiving his MD and MS in 1993, he moved to Germany for his Radiology residency in Freiburg University Hospital which he completed in 2000. Since 1994, he was director of the Freiburg PACS-Project and since 1997 he is head of information technology at the Department of Radiology. Since 2003, Dr. Kotter is vice chairman of the Department of Radiology, University Hospital Freiburg, and Associate Professor of Radiology at Freiburg University since 2008. Dr. Kotter served as chair of the ”Information technology” working group of the ”Deutsche Röntgengesellschaft” (German Society of Radiology) from 2006 to 2015. He is vice-president of the European Society of Medical Imaging Informatics (EuSoMII). Dr. Kotter served the European Society of Radiology as a member of the Subcommittee on eHealth and Informatics, and the European Congress of Radiology as Chairman of the Imaging Informatics Subcommittee. Dr. Kotter is the author or co-author of more than 70 peer-reviewed papers.
