How Can Policymakers Support the Adoption of Drones for Package Deliveries?

Drones have long been touted as a game changer in product delivery. Drone delivery can improve efficiency, cut delivery time, and clear backlogs in the last-mile delivery chain. But the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) lack of comprehensive guidelines for drone delivery operations have stymied the package delivery sector’s adoption of drones across the United States. Additionally, local regulations for drone use—including in commercial delivery—have impeded operations.
