Petrochemicals Without the Petro: A New Initiative?

Petrochemicals Without the Petro: A New Initiative?
Thursday, March 16, 202312:00 PM to 1:00 PM EST
Virtual Webinar

Event Summary

Petrochemical manufacturing is on track to displace refining as the top user of fossil fuels in the next three decades. Yet solutions to this major climate policy challenge may be on the horizon. Laboratories are demonstrating technologies that use electricity or sunlight to make complex chemicals at an affordable cost with minimal emissions and fossil fuel dependency – without the “petro.” What’s needed now is a federal initiative to seize these opportunities and accelerate technical progress, so that the solutions will be ready to scale within the next twenty years.

Watch to learn more about these exciting innovations and to discuss a federal initiative (such as a DOE EarthShot) to accelerate them based on recent work by Dr. Henry Kelly.
