Transforming the U.S. Department of Energy: Paving the Way to Commercialize Advanced Nuclear Energy
The Nuclear Innovation Alliance (NIA) invites you to join us for an online event on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 11:00 AM ET for the release of a new NIA report on "Transforming the U.S. Department of Energy: Paving the Way to Commercialize Advanced Nuclear Energy."
The report provides recommendations on how DOE can more effectively fulfill its essential role in catalyzing advanced nuclear energy technology commercialization. The report has been peer-reviewed by the advanced nuclear technology and advocacy community. The lead DOE official responsible for nuclear energy innovation will participate in the webinar along with congressional staff (invited), an industry representative and a technology policy expert.
This one-hour live event will feature NIA Executive Director Judi Greenwald, NIA Nuclear Innovation Analyst Erik Cothron and several special guests:
- Dr. Kathryn Huff, Assistant Secretary for Nuclear Energy, U.S. Department of Energy
- Scott A. Kopple, Senior Director, Government Relations, BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT)
- David M. Hart, Professor at the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University and senior fellow at the Center for Clean Energy Innovation at the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF).
