PRESENTATIONS

Event Summary

The past few years has seen a surge in the number of websites dedicated to illegally hosting copyright infringing content, such as pirated movies and music. Many of these websites, such as cyberlockers and streaming video sites, rely on ad networks to generate a handsome profit off of the works of content creators. Until now, the size of these earnings has been unknown. Join ITIF for a presentation from David Price, head of piracy intelligence at the UK firm NetNames, who will present the first major assessment of how much ad revenue is generated by these piracy websites. Following his presentation, there will be a panel discussion about opportunities to combat this problem facing content creators.
