In a follow-up "Big Benefits from Big Pharma: Longevity and Real Welfare Growth", further evidence is presented that debunks the myth that pharmaceutical companies aren't providing real value to the economy.  According to new research, pharmaceutical innovation over the 1996-2006 period is responsible for over 60% of longevity gains.
