Advances in EV battery technology have the potential to solve all three EV issues – cost, range, and charging time. But subsidies and carbon and gas taxes don’t provide enough impetus for innovation. What is needed instead is a concerted government effort to support battery research and development and help breakthrough technologies move quickly from the lab to the market.
