Joseph W. Waz, Jr., is Senior Vice President, External Affairs and Public Policy Counsel for Comcast Corporation. He is based at the company’s headquarters in Philadelphia. Joe has primary responsibility for Comcast’s public policy positions and advocacy strategies, working in close coordination with the company’s federal, state and local government relations, law, and corporate communications professionals. He is a frequent speaker and panelist on all aspects of the communications and Internet industries. He also oversees the company’s community investment activities, serving as founding President of the Comcast Foundation, and he is Executive Director of the Comcast Corporation Political Action Committees. He has served on numerous not-for-profit boards, and currently chairs the board of Settlement Music School, the nation’s oldest and largest community school of the arts located in Philadelphia. In 2002, Joe was presented with the cable industry’s highest honor, the Vanguard Award, for his work in government and community relations.
