Seunghyun “Tina” Lee is a Ph.D student in Industrial Design working at the Center for Assistive Technology and Environmental Access in College of Architecture. Her research interest is in human-computer interaction (HCI) using universal and human-centered design approaches to provide better experiences for people with and without limitations. Currently, she is working on designing and developing mobile voting interfaces using the universal design approach for facilitating voting performance. Her dissertation topic focuses on designing voting interfaces for people with vision impairments such as blind and low vision users who number more than 25 million in the U.S. As a design researcher, investigating and evaluating design interfaces for people with different limitations are fascinating to her because such design can have a meaningful impact on facilitating experiences in their daily lives. After graduating, she would like to contribute to society by performing design research in a research-oriented company to enhance the products, interfaces, and systems for people with diverse abilities.
