Steven J. Betza is the Corporate Director of Hardware Engineering for Lockheed Martin in Bethesda, MD. In this capacity, he leads nationwide process and technology initiatives in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing for the 60,000 engineers and scientists in Lockheed Martin, across a program base with $45B in annual sales.
During a 30-year career with IBM, Loral, and Lockheed Martin, Steve has held progressively responsible positions in Information Technology, Engineering, and Program Management. At Lockheed Martin, he has served as an Engineering Director for a 400-Person Electronic Products Organization, Program Director for a Business Area with $120M in annual sales, and CIO for a $2.5B group of Lockheed Martin companies.
Steve currently chairs the Advisory Board for the T.J. Watson School of Engineering at Binghamton University (NY) and was recently elected to the Board of Directors of National Science Olympiad in Chicago, IL. He previously served on the Board of Directors for the Guthrie Healthcare System in Sayre, PA and has been a Guthrie Trustee since 2006.
Steve earned a BSEE with Highest Distinction from Penn State in 1982 and was named a PSU Outstanding Engineering Alumnus in 2002.
