Robert Litan is Director of Research of Bloomberg Government, an information services subsidiary of Bloomberg LP providing analyses and data about the impact of US federal government policies on business. He has had a long and distinguished career in and out of government and the private sector relating to a wide variety of public policy issues. He is both an economist and an attorney.
Prior to joining BGov, Litan was Vice President for Research and Policy at the Kauffman Foundation, Vice President for Economic Studies at the Brookings Institution, and a Senior Fellow at the Institution. He practiced law with two Washington, D.C. law firms.
Litan has held several high level positions in the federal government: Associate Director of the Office of Management and Budget, Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice, a consultant to the Treasury Department, and a staff economist at the President's Council of Economic Advisers.
