Director of Global Trade Policy
As director of global trade policy for HP, Jennifer Mulveny helps direct the trade policy of the company, working with the global government affairs team in Washington, D.C. and with country directors around the world.
Prior to joining HP in 2010, Jennifer was senior director for trade and legislative affairs at Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A. in the Washington office. She represented clients on trade issues before Congress, the White House and federal government agencies. She also provided guidance on moving trade policy through the legislative and executive branches of the U.S. government.
Previously, Mulveny was deputy assistant for congressional affairs at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative. In this position she worked with Congress to advance the Bush Administration’s trade agenda, most notably passage of the U.S.-Dominican Republic-Central America Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA). She also handled matters relating to Africa,South Asia and the Americas as well as textiles, labor, trade capacitybuilding, agriculture, small business and World Trade Organization (WTO) affairs.
Mulveny also worked on the staff of the House Ways and Means Trade Subcommittee, handling trade matters relating to China, the Caribbean/Central America and NAFTA in addition to customs and WTO issues. Her private sector experience also includes time as a trade lobbyist for the New York-based apparel firm Warnaco Inc.
Mulveny holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and English fromthe University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master’s degree in international relations from the George Washington University. She currently serves on the advisory board for the Association of Women in International Trade. She lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband and two sons.
