Gregory Tassey is a Non-resident Senior Fellow at the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation. His major fields of research are the economics of innovation, technology-based economic growth policies, and R&D program impact analysis and evaluation. Over his career, he has become a leading expert in innovation economics and related policies, consulting with U.S. and foreign governments, leading universities, and non-profit organizations. He is currently a member of a National Academy of Sciences committee that is charged by Congress with improving returns on federal R&D.


Dr. Tassey has published 40 papers in policy and economics journals and written four books, the most recent being The Technology Imperative.

He has a B.A. in physics from McDaniel College and a Ph.D. in economics from The George Washington University.
