Brian Bieron has served as a Senior Director of Federal Affairs with eBay Inc. since June of 2004. He leads an eight person Washington office for eBay that focuses on educating policymakers on the evolving eBay marketplace that is expanding both in the United States and abroad and is creating small business jobs across America. Bieron joined eBay after spending three-and-a-half years as a Director at Clark & Weinstock, where he was an advisor to leading technology, telecommunications, and trade associations including eBay, AT&T, PhRMA, Microsoft, Adelphia, BIO, BMG, Vivendi-Universal, Instinet and Nasdaq. Bieron spent more than twelve years on Capitol Hill, where he was Policy Director for House Rules Committee Chairman David Dreier (R-CA), a member of the House Republican Leadership and a congressional leader on technology and trade policy. During that time, he headed up Dreier's successful efforts to: establish Permanent Normal Trade Relations with China; expand the H-1B Visa program for skilled technology workers; reform the export control process for high-speed computers; and reduce the liability for businesses dealing with Y2K computer problems. In 1999, the Information Technology Industry Council named Mr. Bieron the high-tech congressional staff member of the year. Mr. Bieron is a magna cum laude graduate of St. Joseph 's University in Philadelphia, and he received a Masters in International Affairs from George Washington University. He lives in Springfield, Virginia with his wife Kim Bieron, son James and daughters Julianne and Allison.
