Nick Maynard is a senior advisor for small business and innovation policy at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. Previously, Dr. Maynard was a member of the National Broadband Taskforce where he led the analysis on business broadband usage and launched a public-private partnership for small business technology training. Prior to the FCC, he was researcher at the RAND Corporation focused on technology acquisition and R&D management. Dr. Maynard also spent six years in the telecom industry, where he was a consultant to global carriers and vendors on fiber networks and services. Dr. Maynard received his B.A. in Political Science and M.A. focused on international development from the University of Chicago and a Public Policy Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His dissertation research on national ICT strategies was supported through a National Science Foundation grant.
