Doug Brake is a Telecommunications Policy Analyst with the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation. He specializes in broadband policy, wireless enforcement, and spectrum sharing mechanisms. Michelle Wein is ITIF’s Trade Policy Analyst, specializing in the connections between international trade, innovation, intellectual property and economic productivity. Her work has been featured in the Huffington Post, The Hill, Politico and Inside U.S. Trade, among others. Prior to joining ITIF, Michelle worked on intellectual property policy at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative and the U.S. Department of State. She also spent four months studying European Union governance challenges in Berlin, Germany.
Ben Miller is ITIF’s Economic Growth Policy Analyst, specializing in the connection between technology, innovation, and the macroeconomy. Ben joined ITIF in 2013 after working as an economic analyst for the Federal Trade Commission, and has held a variety of other positions in the private and non-profit sectors. He also served for two years as an education volunteer in the Philippines with the US Peace Corps. Ben holds a Masters of International Relations and International Economics from Johns Hopkins SAIS and a Bachelors of Arts in German from Whitman College.
Joe Kennedy is a Senior Fellow at ITIF with a focus on economic policy. For almost three decades he has provided legal and economic advice to senior officials in the public and private sector. Megan Nicholson is a Policy Analyst with ITIF’s Center for Clean Energy Innovation (CCEI). She specializes in clean energy policy, the federal energy budget, the role of the Department of Defense in the energy innovation ecosystem, and international environmental policy. She also manages CCEI’s Energy Innovation Tracker, a public database of federal investments in energy innovation down to the project level, which is widely used as an analytical resource by policymakers, think tanks, and academics. L. Val Giddings joins ITIF as Senior Fellow after nearly three decades of experience in science and regulatory policy relating to biotechnology innovations in agriculture and biomedicine.
