Kathryn joined ITIF in 2010 as executive assistant to the President and office manager. Prior to ITIF, Kathryn interned at The Cohen Group, where she conducted high level research and investigated clients issues related to international policy. She graduated from Georgetown University in 2010 with a B.A. in Arabic language studies and a minor in Business. Kathryn spent a semester studying Arabic at the American University in Cairo. Darrene L. Hackler was a Senior Fellow at the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF). Prior to coming to ITIF, she worked in California at one of the world's largest technology companies. Ms. Jang is fluent in Korean and graduated from UC Davis in 2006 with a B.A. in history and political science.
Scott Andes is a senior policy analyst at the Metropolitan Policy Program at the Brookings Institution. His work focuses on advanced industries, innovation and technology, and economic development. Prior to joining Brookings, he was a research analyst at the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation where he authored and co-authored reports on innovation and domestic economic policy. He was also Special Assistant to Senator Chuck Schumer at the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee and has worked on a number of state and national political campaigns. Previously, he was Technical Director and Editor at Large at ZDNet.com and wrote one of their most popular blogs “Real World IT“. Before journalism, Mr. Ou was a network engineer. He built and designed wired network, wireless network, Internet, storage, security, and server infrastructure for various fortune 100 companies.
Julie Hedlund was a Senior Analyst with the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF). She has advised IT companies and regulators concerning telecommunications and Internet policy and teaches a popular course for private and public sector ofﬁcials from developing countries on Internet Regulatory and Trade Policy at the U.S. Telecommunications Training Institute in Washington, DC.
